Pediatric surgical concerns
- Inguinal hernia and umbilical hernia
- Undescended testis and urological questions
- Umbilical fistula, umbilical granuloma and smaller malformations
Services
Pediatric surgery requires medical experience, calm communication and clear support for the family. Many smaller procedures can be planned on an outpatient basis when findings, age and safety allow it.
Scope of services
Typical conditions include circumcision for medical or cultural reasons, undescended testis, inguinal hernia including in infants, umbilical hernia, umbilical fistula, umbilical granuloma, funnel or pigeon chest and congenital malformations of the abdominal wall, genitals or extremities.
Every treatment begins with a child-friendly examination and clear explanation for parents and child. Ultrasound and further findings are used when helpful for treatment decisions.
Outpatient procedures are performed after careful information for legal guardians, under suitable anesthesia and with child-friendly support. The aim is care that is as low-stress and safe as possible, without unnecessary inpatient burden.
After the procedure, the child remains under observation depending on the method. Families receive clear guidance on pain medication, wound care, rest, warning signs and follow-up checks.
